The Jewish Museum of Maryland building is closed to the public until the summer of 2024 for the first phase of a capital project. This renovation is designed to grow the JMM from a 20th-century museum to a 21st-century one.
During this time, visitors can explore the virtual gallery websites for JMM original exhibits A Fence Around the Torah: Safety and Unsafety in Jewish LifeandMy Odessa: Paintings by Yefim Ladyzhensky. You can also view our documentary film Synagogue Stories: A Tradition of Change on Lloyd Street and explore an extensive selection of JMM programs and events on the Museum’s YouTube channel.
Visitor groups can book virtual exhibit tours of A Fence Around the Torah and My Odessa, and virtual screenings of Synagogue Stories. In-person screenings of Synagogue Stories may be available upon request and based on the location of your venue. To book a group experience, contact Hannah Balik, Visitor Experience Coordinator, at hbalik@jewishmuseummd.org or 443-873-5167.
Our programs will be happening in-person at offsite locations as well as virtually.
